There are also realms of slipspace distinct from the one typically used for travel. There are also realms of slipspace distinct from the one typically used for travel. A spacetime-manipulating crystal found on Reach caused the UNSC-captured Ascendant Justice and the Covenant ships which pursued it to enter an anomalous slipspace dimension different from the normal slipspace used for travel.
UNSC are able to make yet another feat in the history of the slipspace travel. While the aft section of UNSC Forward Unto Dawn stranded in space after firing of Installation 08, the front section of the ship are able to travel safely back to the Indian Ocean, with Thel 'Vadam as the only witness and survivor that experience it. Normally, ship under such condition will be destroyed in the middle of slipspace. However, Forward Unto Dawn manage to survive the slipspace travel and able to arrive safely back on Earth albeit with no engines due to the aft section being cutted off.
