'''Dome of Light''' is the sixth [[campaign]] level of the real-time strategy game, ''[[Halo Wars]]''.
The level involves breaking through a giant, dome-shaped [[Covenant Empire|Covenant]] [[Energy shielding|Energy Shield]] to discover what lies within. The main objective of the mission is to escort the [[M-145D Rhino|Rhino]] tanks to the marked points around the map, defended by the Covenant, after which [[Serina]] will fire all tanks on the same point of the energy shield to break through it. The mission initially involves placing three Rhinos at the marked points but after a failed attack on the shield two more points are selected for Rhinos to be placed at. After the energy shield is broken through, the player is then given 40 [[Magnetic Accelerator Cannon#Halo Wars|MAC shots]] to destroy the Covenant base within and complete the mission. This is another level in which the player is aided by computer-controlled units.

==Summary==
On the {{UNSCShip|Spirit of Fire}}, Professor [[Ellen Anders]] reveals her latest findings to Sergeant [[John Forge]] and Captain [[James Cutter]]: a massive [[Covenant]] energy shield blocking their view of a portion of the planet. The Covenant are clearly up to something beneath the shield, but the ''Spirit of Fire'' can't use its weapons to take down the shield without risking destroying whatever is beneath. Anders realizes that superheated plasma can overload the shield dome's power supply and a plan is formed to use plasma-based [[M145D Rhino]]s from the {{UNSCShip|Pillar of Autumn}} to safely take down the shield.

At the [[Arcadia ONI facility]], the first attempt to destroy the shield has no effect and instead draws the wrath of the Covenant. As Anders struggles to determine how many Rhinos they need and to calibrate the shots, UNSC forces struggle to repel Covenant forces and place the Rhinos into position. Finally, after encountering heavy resistance, the ''Spirit of Fire's'' forces are able place five Rhinos from the ''Pillar of Autumn'' into position and together, they take down a section of the energy shield.

With the barrier penetrated, the player takes control of one of the ''Spirit of Fire's'' [[MAC]] turrets and destroys the air defenses and shield generators beneath the dome. [[Serina]] eventually takes over if the targets are not taken down in a timely fashion and finishes the job. With the shield down, UNSC forces are able to investigate what the Covenant were hiding beneath.

*If the player sends a captured Banshee toward the energy shield, the Banshee will immediately self-destruct and the Spartan will fall to the ground. The Spartan will then respawn by the UNSC base.
*When a Rhino is requested, sometimes the Pelican pilot refers to the ground team as [[Harvest]] Surface Command. This may have been an oversight by the developers, as this level takes place on Arcadia. However, it is possible that the ''Spirit of Fire'' was still officially assigned to Harvest.
*The ODST squads that are sent to guard the first Rhino each have two medics instead of one.
*The shield dome for which this level is named is very similar to the [[deployment spire]]s seen in ''[[Halo: Reach]]''.
