Not much is known about it, but it is a [[weapon attachment]] mentioned by a UNSC serviceman. There is no underslung shotgun attachement for the MA5C. It would most likely be used in close-range combat, such as house clearance or trench fighting.

The underslung shotgun is a weapon used by the United Nations Space Command. It can be attached to a service rifle such as the MA5 to aid in close-quarters combat.[1]
