Operational History

Fall of Reach

Main article: Fall of Reach

During the Fall of Reach, Charlie Company was ordered by Admiral Whitcomb to get the Nova bombs, weapons so powerful that they could turn the tides in space battles and had enough explosive energy to destroy whole planets. However, they were attacked by the Covenant before they could the bombs. The surviving Marines held off the enemy for more then an hour with Warthogs, Scorpions, and turrets.

Lieutenant Buckman, the CO, was ordered to send the majority of his force in an attempt to flank the enemy. He also called for air support. However, HIGHCOM realized that the MAC generators were at danger of being overrun, and ordered the bombers to wipe out everything within a five hundred meter radius, killing the Covenant force, as well as the Lieutenant's men.

Chapman, with help via radio from Admiral Whitcomb, pulled his men together and fought back valiantly against the Covenant at a final stand, killing many of them. The remaining troops eventually defeated the aliens, though at the end of the battle, only a Corporal and three Marines were alive, out of the original two hundred men.[1]

They were later found by SPARTAN-029, SPARTAN-087, SPARTAN-104, and the remaining Spartans. After telling 104 about their battle, they were ordered to reach a rendezvous point in two Warthogs with the six wounded Spartans. This team of Marines and the wounded Spartans were callsigned Team Delta.

They were separated from the rest of Spartan-043's team and lost contact. Their ultimate fate is unknown, but they are likely dead either by the Covenant, or from the eventual glassing of Reach.
