Halopedia talk:Rollbackers/Archive 3

From Halopedia, the Halo wiki

Request 4: Kougermasters

This is my fourth request for Rollback Rights since I arrived at Halopedia. Unlike the first three requests, I have actually used the undo button, and in the last few days I have undid vandalism and many pointless edits. Some examples are Terminals, Sandbox, Kig-yar, Flood, and undoing/reporting major vandalism and fanon on the now deleted pages, Jackle plasma rifle, Onotix, and Hell spartan. Since they are deleted, I can't find the vandal fighting in my contributions, but many other users, including Whispering, and RelentlessRecusant can say I was there and I helped. Also, unlike my previous requests, I come with new found maturity and a new sense and meaning of responsibility. — Lt. Commander Kouger 00:16, 21 December 2008 (UTC)

Request: Odysseas-spartan-53

This is the first time I request Rollback Rights. I may use the undo buttor rarely but still deserve them as I have done more than a thousand edits (by the time I place this request I have 1,265 mainspace edits) and I am very active on the site (maybe not the last days, but from now I will be able to contribute daily). In my early days, I didn't know about the usage of the undo button and I was just reporting vandal IP's or users to administratrs (usually, to Specops306). Even when I learned how to use the undo button, I was just reporting the vandals. I have totally reported about 10 vandal or spam IP's and users. Finally, I have to say that if you give me rollback rights, I will use them carefully and with responsibility. This is all I have to say. --Odysseas-Spartan53 11:43, 11 January 2009 (UTC)

Request: Spirit of Fire

This is my first request for Rollback Rights. I have undone many useless or damaging edits (the best examples are on articles like The Ark (Level), Rampancy, Shadow of Intent and Silent Cartographer (Building)), and reported some spammers and vandals to the Admins (EwCDnaudee419 and Specops306 can give confirm). I am also quite active on Halopedia and by the time I make this request I have amassed more than 1000 edits, tried to repair several articles (examples: Armory (Room) and Gravemind (Level)), and created a few new (Halo Wars: Official Strategy Guide and Troop Deployment Pod (Pelican)). If Rollback Rights will be granted to me, I won't abuse them, but will use them in the best way to protect the articles' shape with moderation and responsability. Request 2: Nicmavr

I'm here to request rollback again. I admit the mistake I made with it, but now I'm ready. I have more than 1000 edits, as my editcount shows. I have been doing some improvements to articles and some anti-vandalism, like this and this. I have more as well, though they are kinda far back in my history. Examples:

Yeah, see here. Manticore removed my rollback because of this revertion I did, which I didn't even know was wrong. Request: Sub-71

Hello, this is my first request regarding rollback and I want to make this worth it.

Ever since I joined halopedia I have taken pride in making quality edits as well as assisting people with making edits to their userwiki's, and other pages. After a long period of time since I had orignaly joined I had learned about the undo button and how it works and ever since then I have been reverting mind-numbing vandal edits right down to inportant information deletion edits, with this I stand at 1,433 mainspace edits as listed here My editcount.

Here is a couple of examples of my work here on halopedia;

Hi, I'm aware that this request will probably almost certainly fail, but I'll request anyway because I can and will try it out. As a rollback user and then an admin on another wiki, I have extensive experience and ability editing wikis and fighting vandalism. I currently frequently watch the Halopedia anti-vandalism channel and the general Wikia-wide anti-vandalism channel, and I've been seen in many places fighting vandalism both here and elsewhere. It would be easier if I received rollback here to fulfil those self-imposed anti-vandal tasks. Thanks, The 888th Avatar (Talk) 12:54, 11 March 2009 (UTC)

Good evening, Halopedians. I was advised to check out Rollback rights due to numerous instances of combating vandalism. I'm on throughout the day (whenever I'm not at work, which could be anytime, as my schedule isn't exactly regular at the moment), and I have experience with wikis in general (I'm still learning some of the mark-ups, but I know the basic functions; kind of got used to them after just over 1,000 edits). Anyway, I suppose you'd like to see some proof, so here it is:

Those were all just today. There's much more. Also, the other user that caught the vandal of the Tobacco article before Nicmavr could was me. I caught it a split-second before he did.

Here's a few more:

Well, here I am with my first time requesting rollback rights. I became a Major today (15/3/09), and I am nearing the 1000 edits (I have about 950). Many of them had been undo at vandalism edits. I don't have any specific undos to refer to, so I will just give a link to my contribs. As about the sysop rights in other Wikias, I am the head admin and only member of the Greek X Factor wiki. Though its currently inactive, I have done some serious edits and have used the rollback button for quick undos.

I was in the trio that helped in the takedown of Drummer1258. I also helped in the "destruction" of an IP and his Fanon articles which he was linking all around the wikia. Many thought that his fictional avatar page was Thel Vadam's father! Unfortunately, his extreme stupidity got me blocked because I shouted at him... thanks Manticore! :P Ask him, he might have a link to the IP's contribs.-JEA13

I'm kinda nervous about this, but I am an administrator on another wiki, [WiCapedia]: in fact, I co-founded that wiki with ONIrecon111. However, a factor which may dent my chances at getting rollback is the fact I only have 225 edits and only 49 are mainspace edits, and that alone could singlehandedly derail my chances. I also expect this request to fail, but if it does, I'll just wait until my mainspace editcount is higher when Halo 3: ODST and Halo Chronicles stuff comes along. S-984 20:14, 22 March 2009 (UTC)

I do not have 1000 edits, but I am a Bureaucrat on the Warhammer 40k fanon wiki. I am requesting rollback rights because I believe I can better the site by using them. I mostly do small edits like adding Catigories but I revert and report Vandalisim whenever I find it(even if I can't spell it). I don't consider speculation vandilisim unless repeated dispite warnings so I won't be submitting any contestable edits as vandalisim. I have one mark against me on this site. I was banned for censoring a page I thought was inappropriate. Though it was by User:Manticore who many would consider ban-happy (see Help talk:Rollback Rights#Request: JEA13) and was shortend significantly by User:Devout Atheist because he realised it was well intentioned. I've learned my leason and decided to read the rules before doing anything stupid in the future, or maybe just not doing anything stupid at all. I hope you consider me worthy of this small increase in responsibility. I won't abuse it.— GalacticDominator 21:13, October 9, 2009 (UTC)

Request 2: Galacticdominator

My rollback rights aren't working anymore and I couldn't get ahold of anybody. Could someone repair them?

Your rollback rights were removed for reverting several good edits by Halopediaman. Prove you can use them responsibly and apply for it again. Rollback rights are to be used for reverting things that are untrue, vandalism, or generally worthless edits, and the edits you reverted didn't fall into any of those categories. SmokeSound off! 20:54, October 16, 2009 (UTC)

I thought that the Halopediaman edits were generally worthless. They were removing the rating at the top of disambig pages. I thought that he was simply point w----ing because the ratings on disambig pages help to determine if the pages are really needed. I was confronted by Subtank and I Immediately apologised but unfortunently I had to get off before I could revert my faulty edits. additionaly I had good reason to believe that the edits were point w----ing because Halopediaman had been resently banned for point w----ing. also my edits were not point w----ing because all rollback edits are minor edits. GalacticDominator 20:10, October 17, 2009 (UTC)

Before you determine whether the user is point-whoring (the correct term is abusing the point system), check their contribution and summaries of those contribution. There should be a reason why they do it. If they don't supply one, then it clearly that they are abusing the point system. Confront them and tell them that their contributions will be reverted if not supplied with a proper reason. That's how you confront suspicious users. It doesn't matter if they have a criminal record; everyone is unique and change overtime.- 5əb'7aŋk(7alk) 22:00, October 17, 2009 (UTC)
No one accused you of abusing the point system, and we're well aware of the nature of rollback edits. Also, he hasn't been banned for anything recently - the last block on him was over a year ago and that was for something totally different, so that isn't a valid reason. If you don't find anything in the contributions (such as a pattern in their less recent edits) or in the edit summaries, check the messages they've received for any clues. If you notice that there isn't anything suggesting that they might be doing something useful, confront them and have an administrator review their edits. You can always put in another request, anyway. Just wait a while and do more to fight vandalism (and make sure you're more careful).SmokeSound off! 02:46, October 18, 2009 (UTC)

Oh, well. I was looking through the ban log to find Halopediaman which I was sure I had seen him banned in the last week but I couldn't find him. I must have seen Haloizdabesstgameevea and somehow accidently got to Halopediamans Contribution page so yeah that was a misunderstanding. I did think that his contributions were counter productive and I didn't know that Ratings weren't allowed on disambiguation pages. I guess if tats not good enough there's nothing left but to re apply in a week or two. Thanks for walking through the process with me. Galactic 22:12, October 18, 2009 (UTC)

So I've been doing some anti-vandal edits, and some of you might've noticed that I'm pretty active in here, occasionally. And I think rollback rights would probably help my vandal fighting work a lot so I find it reasonable to request them at this point. --Jugus 20:36, October 26, 2009 (UTC)

Support.svg Support - No reason to deny you Rollback Rights. SoF 20:58, October 26, 2009 (UTC)
Support.svg Support - Will get a Bureaucrat in here to grant the both of you rollback shortly. SmokeSound off! 07:22, October 27, 2009 (UTC)
There is a Tick.JPG Done ({{Done}}) template that is for approving general requests, including ones for rollback. - JEA13 [iTalk] 07:51, October 28, 2009 (UTC)
