Merge?

This rank is the exact same as the Petty Officer rank, it's just that, in the navy, a person's rank is a combination of their pay grade and job. -ED 19:21, 28 March 2007 (UTC)

I'll have to double check but I'm pretty sure the techie Sam (who gets shot in PoA cryo bay observation area where MC is at start) is referred to just as Petty Officer in the novel (though I can't remember which one he's in). -- Manticore ^{Talk | CSV} 07:34, 6 April 2007 (UTC)

MERGE - He's called tech officer in the Halopedia article, but I can't be bothered confirming this right now. I concur with ED though, in the current U.S. Navy, enlisted ranks are a combination of pay grade and rate (job). -- Manticore ^{Talk | CSV} 07:39, 6 April 2007 (UTC)
