Where the prometheans the same as spartans? Because they seen to act as super soldiers but the book doesn't really gives a specification about it

I think he meant are they analogous, in which case I still don't think so. Spartans are a group of elite supersoldiers. Prometheans are more akin to godlike generals, revered by the Forerunner people and with almost supreme authority. Promethean height and weight

I don't recall in Cryptum, a promethean's height or weight ever being given. Although it is safe to assume that the didact was quite a bit larger than born's father who stood over 13 feet tall. The reason being that when born's father was described, his height was defined as being tall but not to the extent that it was worth mentioning extensively as was didact. Throughout the novel, the didact was described as being massive, his legs were compared to tree trunks in size, the fact that he was described as being slightly taller than other prometheans (as the war sphinxes were described as being able to accommodate a promethean slightly smaller than didact), the list goes on. Although he is clearly larger than born's father, there was never an instance where his height, or any promethean's height was given, including the confirmer. Where did 4 meters come from? That is born's father's height.

Their weight too, where did 800-1000 KG come from? Prometheans were understandably very heavy, but i don't recall their weight( or weight range for that matter) ever being given. Although in the novel, born stated during the rejuvenation process that were didact at full health, born wouldn't even be able to lift his arm up. This, along with the fact that the didact, and perhaps all prometheans were able to crush a human skull with just their bare hand implies that they were by far the most massive forerunners known. My own estimates put them around 14-15 ft in height, and anywhere from 3000 to 4500 lbs of pure ultra-dense muscle.

However, until the exact physical description of a promethean is given, i think we should just list them as being the most massive forerunners in terms of height and weight. —This unsigned comment was made by Emasik (talk • contribs). Please sign your posts with ~~~~

Prometheans and Prometheus

Is it possible - pure conjecture here - that a single Promethean came to Earth and became known as Prometheus? I find that we have increasing parallels between the Halo universe and Greek Mythology. Ocean Soul 00:23, 25 August 2011 (EDT)

You've made a good point. It actually isn't as unlikely as I'd thought. Prometheus means "forethought"; even if Prometheus wasn't literally the name of a particular Forerunner, this translation could reference how ancient and wise the Prometheans were among other Forerunners. Perhaps the legend of Prometheus was the result of an incompletely recollected geas. I hope later media strengthen these connections between Greek mythology and the Forerunners' and humanity's shared history, or at least allude to them. --Courage never dies. 22:57, 29 August 2011 (EDT)

Well, apparently it's closer than previously thought. The author of the Forerunner Saga has said that the Greek Spartans are descended from Chakas, and that the Spartan II's are descended from the Greek Spartans. Organic?

What we fight are Promethean Knights, not actual Forerunner Prometheans. Cortana remarked in the E3 showing when a Knight is encountered "Whatever it is it's definitely NOT organic!" So no, they're constructs. The actual warrior class, however, are organic.Ocean Soul 22:10, 20 July 2012 (EDT)

Background

The Background references both the original Promethean warrior class and the artificial Promethean constructs which appear in Halo 4 (of which we know very little about at this stage). Shouldn't they be separated out?--Retriokillswitch 18:32, 18 September 2012 (EDT)
