In a recent Bungie Weekly Update, it was annouced Moonlight Sonata will be replacing Purple Reign. This does not, however, mean that the map Purple Reign has been scrapped, only that it will appear in a later set. Moonlight Sonata will likely be available for download on Xbox Live Marketplace in the Legendary Map Pack available Spring 2008.

As hinted by the name, Bungie has revealed that this map takes places under a nighttime sky. In the Bungie Weekly Update 2/15/08 it states "...gentle glow warms this otherwise chilly, isolated structure. Steam is ejected into the skybox which resembles the night sky from the opening of Sierra 117, but what’s under that sky is far different than a lush jungle".

Some fans have speculated that this map may well be the long-awaited return of Lockout.
