Introduction

Halopedia Warz is a Halopedia-namespace collaboration started by RelentlessRecusant to host Halopedia intra-clan battles on Xbox LIVE and post the results on the Main Page. At first Halopedia Warz was a spur-of-the-moment kind of thing, with matches scheduled whenever Relentless was available, later on, Halopedia Warz turned into a system much like Bungie's, between teams of two. Now, with RelentlessRecusant taking a leave of absence, CommanderTony and Spirit-of-HALO are in charge of the Halopedia Warz.

Games featured will include Halo 3, Halo Wars, and any popular game that users or the coordinators request. Matches will be announced a week ahead of the scheduled date, with voting occurring within the span of 5 days. Currently, Halopedia Warz will only be available for Xbox 360 owners with Xbox LIVE subscriptions; though plans to extend this to the PlayStation Network on the PlayStation 3 and the PC/MAC systems are in consideration. Cooperative Campaign matches for Halo 3, in addition to the upcoming Halo 3: ODST's Firefight is in consideration as well.

Hosting

Each match will be coordinated by two hosts, that will establish the game and monitor behavior of both teams. Volunteers and Temporary hosts for less-organized games and game set ups will be requested on a need-for basis.

Rules

  • Sportsmanship: Respect fellow Halopedians on the field of battle, regardless of if they are on your team. This is just a game, poor conduct and extremely foul language will not be tolerated.
  • Teamwork: Work as a team to achieve victory over the opposing team, not participating without prior warning will result in the exclusion of that day's events.
  • Enjoyment: Make this a fun, exciting, and enjoyable environment for everybody. Do not shun other players with profanities, racial slurs, or other hateful comments. As stated before, this is just a videogame...treat it as that.
  • Requirements: Halopedians must have the standard game of the Halopedia Warz, Halo 3; in addition, have the game required for that weeks match to be able to participate. Users must have an up-to-date Xbox LIVE Gold subscription as well as the Heroic and Legendary map packs. Games using the Mythic Map Pack will become a requirement after two months of the release.
  • Participation: Matches will begin five minutes after the posted time. Joining a match will be based on a first come-first serve basis.

Halo Wars

For Halo Wars matches on Halopedia Warz, teams of three users each will battle each other on various battlefields, some small, some epically large. Users are asked to create teams before competing, some that may have alternates as well. Before entering your team, you must have a minimum of three users, and a commitment for the games. Teams can decide on whether their forces are aligned to the United Nations or the Covenant Empire, and can even mix and match.

Voting

The game (Halo 3 or Halo Wars), gametype, and map will be voted on by the players during from Sunday to Thursday, prior to the Halopedia matches on Friday. Voting for the game that we will be playing will occur from Saturday or Sunday to Monday, and General voting for the gametype and map until Thursday.
