The official Mythic Map Pack Logo.

"The long-awaited Mythic Map Pack drops into Xbox LIVE Marketplace. Investigate Orbital’s abandoned hallways - before it was evacuated, the Quito Space Tether was heralded as the “Civil Engineering Monument of the Millennium.” Witness Assembly, where Scarab hulls loom overhead, being decontaminated in preparation for the city-sized Lekgolo colonies that will breathe life into the massive metal husks. An excavation site surrounded by deadly Forerunner defenses, the mysteries of Sandbox are hidden high above, deep below, and right before your eyes."
— Marketplace description.[1]

The Mythic Map Pack is a DLC map pack created by Bungie for Halo 3. The map pack was released in Asia and Australia on February 26, in Europe and Africa on February 27, and in the Americas, on March 3, with the Limited Edition version of Halo Wars.[2] On March 23, 2009, Microsoft confirmed April 9, 2009, as the release date for Mythic as standalone DLC on Xbox Live for 800 Microsoft Points. In July 2010 the price dropped to 400 Microsoft Points.[3] In July 2017, along with all other Halo 3, Halo 4, and Halo: Reach DLC map packs, the Mythic Map Pack was made free to those on Xbox Live.[4] All Mythic Map Pack content is included in Halo: The Master Chief Collection.

Summary[edit]

The icon of the Mythic Map Packs is an alternate version of the difficulty icon known as Mythic. The knives are replaced with Battle Rifles, and the Mythic Skull replaces the Elite Skull. It is to be noted that Mythic has been known as a non-existent difficulty above Legendary, though Bungie has mentioned it several times on Bungie.net.
