Halo: Initiation is an upcoming three-part comic book series produced by Dark Horse Comics. It will act as the origin story for Commander Sarah Palmer and is presented as a lead-in to Halo: Spartan Assault, which also stars Palmer.[3] The series will follow her career from her time as an Orbital Drop Shock Trooper to the leader of the SPARTAN-IVs aboard the Template:UNSCship.[4][5]

Synopsis
The first issue opens with a meeting between SPARTAN-II washout Musa and several admirals in January 2553, discussing the importance of the SPARTAN-IIs during the war and its moral implications. Musa argues that despite the defeat of the Covenant, their remnants, as well as resurgent human rebels, still pose a major threat and reveals that he has initiated a new generation of Spartans to combat them. The story then goes three months back, to October 2552, with a group of ODSTs led by Sarah Palmer being deployed into combat.
