Regarding a discussion on the T-26 Banshee talk page I was wondering how you guys would feel about adding a tab feature for the infobox. Example. This would be mostly for Covenant weapons and vehicles, since they usually have the most subvariants, but would also include pages like the Kig-Yar and M6H magnum.Sith Venator (Dank Memes) 17:27, 9 August 2015 (EDT)

If we did this. Could I suggest we do this for armor also. I mean would make browsing any armor that has a Gen 1 and Gen 2 variant a whole load more easier.(Another reason to add this really)

Also a must ask if we do this. Should we give the option to add drop boxes to the tab feature. So if there is any skins in Halo 4 for that weapon, they dont mesh with the skins from Halo 5, and weapon variants from Halo Online.
So if the person wants to see the Halo 4 version of the Plasma Pistol. They get the choice if they want to see it basic, FCT(Fracture), or in the BPL(Boilerplate) skin.
The above suggestion is just to stop the tab being overfilled with options. As Halo 5 may overload the M6H article if the above isnt applied. -CIA391 (talk) 22:42, 9 August 2015 (GMT)
I think it would be fine for Mjolnir too. I'm not sure about adding skins to the infobox, probably best to keep those in their respective galleries.Sith Venator (Dank Memes) 18:00, 9 August 2015 (EDT)
I'm cool even if we dont include skins with this idea. But if we go up by game release order for the variants, the dropbox idea still applies to Halo Online and Halo 5 regardless. Mostly due to the fact that its not skins we are talking about but actual variants(add-ons) to the weapons/vehicles. -CIA391 (talk) 23:12, 9 August 2015 (GMT)
It's really going to depend on how much information we have. If the information is available the tabs will be ordered via named variant. Example being the Banshee, going A, AZ, B, BZ, C, and whatever the H5G version is, which until we know the name we could just label as Halo 5: Guardians variant. The MA5D tabs could probably go under game titles though, followed by their variants for each game. Though it's going to be a long time before we get cutouts for the variants in Halo Online.Sith Venator (Dank Memes) 18:23, 9 August 2015 (EDT)

I approve of this decision for all Covenant stuff as well as things with multiple variants but the same designation for all of them.--The Master Builder (talk) 17:54, 9 August 2015 (EDT)

I think we should definitely do it, that way you wont have to go to the bottom of the page and find the image you want. Also, i'll make sure to get a less reflective beam rifle image. -- Topal the Pilot (Talk|Contribs) 21:20, 9 August 2015 (EDT)

I don't know... I can see its use, but I'd like to think that a gallery or gallery category would be able to suffice for different models, subspecies, in-game designs, etc. without taking up space in the infobox. A lot of the time, the different appearances in an object is just due to artistic licence or updated graphics or whatever. I like what we have done on the Banshee page, where we have a small, in-universe gallery for the different Banshee variants. As for different weapon skins, we could just place them in the gallery or the gallery category if they take up too much space. If anything, I would apply infobox tabs for weapon skins over weapon/vehicle/whatever variants, design differences, etc. - NightHammer (talk) 21:33, 9 August 2015 (EDT)
The gallery has serve its purpose quite well indeed. — subtank 11:36, 10 August 2015 (EDT)

I'm fine if we end up doing this. Just a note, we have to use our own tabbing code, as Wikia's tabber does not work here.--Spartacus TalkContribs 11:27, 10 August 2015 (EDT)

Per above. Also keep in mind that tabs don't appear as nice as they should in mobile view. Also, do note that tabs only look nice when they're limited to three or four; when you have more, it looks really bad in both desktop and mobile view (case in point, Hunt the Truth/Blog_posts. — subtank 11:36, 10 August 2015 (EDT)
I agree. That's why I kinda suggested if we could add dropbox's like what we have in our navigation box. Except instead of taking the user to a new page it just changes the image in the infobox(if this is possible, not sure what is fully possible here or not)
On a side note while you mentioned it, relating to the Hunt the truth blog posts. I was thinking of splitting them up so it looks neater. Maybe by months or by episode. -CIA391 (talk) 13:53, 11 August 2015 (GMT)
Did anything come from this? Or was this shot down?
I was about to edit heavily the Armor gallery's but if this is down the pipeline I will personally wait. Because the variants of armor that have Mark V to VI variants and so on would really benefit with this. Plus it would really tidy up a lot of their gallery's in the process. - CIA391 (talk) 22:15, 10 September 2015 (GMT)
