Cassandra Rose Clarke (born September 21, 1983) is a speculative fiction writer. She is the author of the first Halo young adult novel, Halo: Battle Born and its sequel, Halo: Meridian Divide.

Background[edit]

Cassandra Rose Clarke grew up in south Texas and currently lives in a suburb of Houston, where she writes and teaches composition at local colleges. She graduated in 2006 from The University of St. Thomas with a bachelors degree in English, and in 2008 she completed her masters degree in creative writing at The University of Texas at Austin. Clarke's first novel, The Assassin's Curse, received a starred review from Kirkus Reviews and was nominated for YALSA’s 2014 Best Fiction for Young Adults.[1]
