The Energy bridge, otherwise known as a Light bridge, is a Forerunner technology.
It has two components: a control panel and what are believed to be energy projectors. The control panel is a semitranslucent holographic array of lines, circles, and polygons that is projected from the surface of Forerunner metal. Tapping a "blue-green circle"[1] activates the bridge. Photons begin to stream between the two projector arrays, and are stimulated by unknown excitations to "displace the air around them", becoming a firm, solid bridge of coherent bluish light, capable of holding large amounts of weight, including M12 Warthog LRVs. When damaged, the bridge transiently flickers, occasionally dropping peoples crossing over the bridge into the space below[2].
