UNSC Herodotus was a Halberd-class destroyer in service with the UNSC Navy,[1] serving as a part of the Epsilon Eridani Fleet. The destroyer participated in the Fall of Reach in the summer of 2552. On August 30, 2552, she was bisected from bow to stern by a Covenant warship's energy projector at a distance of 100,000 kilometers.[5]
Behind the scenes
Herodotus was an ancient Greek historian. The Halo Encyclopedia mistakenly places the destruction of Herodotus during the Battle of Sigma Octanus IV, rather than the Fall of Reach. The Encyclopedia also erroneously claims that Herodotus was the first human vessel to be destroyed by a Covenant energy projector.[6]
