Honestly, I don't think the template is necessary since it has a limited, trivial and non-crucial use. Wouldn't it be better to present the maps in the traditional, yet simplistic bullet-style format like the rest of the articles? Two other reasons is the potential issue of scalability and compatibility (''when'' the wiki receives a mobile skin, the table will be mangled), and my personal rule to "avoid template creep".— [[User:Subtank|subtank]] 09:34, 3 July 2013 (EDT)

Simply put, "Infinity" is just a flavour text/description used by 343i as another word for multiplayer. A synonym for "multiplayer" if you will. Nothing noteworthy at that end. Also, most, if not all of the content in this article has been sufficiently covered in [[Halo_4#Multiplayer|''Halo 4''<nowiki />'s multiplayer section]]. Rename

According to this[1], specificaly the sentence "The competitive multiplayer modes of Halo 4 are known as War Games", Multi-Player in Halo 4 is called War Games. - DefeatingLine 20:13, 20 May 2012 (EDT)

Yes, competitive multiplayer is known as War Games. Meanwhile, Infinity includes both War Games and the cooperative Spartan Ops. --Jugus (Talk | Contribs) 00:39, 21 May 2012 (EDT)

I talked to David Ellis (the guy behind Spartan Ops) last night during Waypoint's playdate and I asked him about this. Infinity is just the general multiplayer name. Infinity contains War Games and Spartan Ops. So it looks like this:

  • Campaign
  • Infinity
    • Spartan Ops
    • War Games
      • Big Team Battle
      • Rumble Pit
      • etc.
  • Forge
  • Theater

Expanding the article

In most instances on the wiki, sections on the game page give an overview on the topic and provide a link to the topic page which gives more fleshed out and thorough information. In this case it's the reverse. Rather than a simple copy-paste, I think we should move some of the Infinity info from the Halo 4 page, to here. This page should also feature the maps template. This is just my opinion, but in its current state, this article may as well be a redirect to the section on the Halo 4 page.--Soul reaper 06:45, 1 September 2012 (EDT)

Regarding the use of Template:Halo 4 War Games Main

Honestly, I don't think the template is necessary since it has a limited, trivial and non-crucial use. Wouldn't it be better to present the maps in the traditional, yet simplistic bullet-style format like the rest of the articles? Two other reasons is the potential issue of scalability and compatibility (when the wiki receives a mobile skin, the table will be mangled), and my personal rule to "avoid template creep".— subtank 09:34, 3 July 2013 (EDT)

Merge with multiplayer

Simply put, "Infinity" is just a flavour text/description used by 343i as another word for multiplayer. A synonym for "multiplayer" if you will. Nothing noteworthy at that end. As such, I don't think it is notable enough to have its own article. The multiplayer article already does a better job of providing an overview of Halo 4's multiplayer. Also, most, if not all of the content in this article has been sufficiently covered in Halo 4's multiplayer section. I would prefer this article to be deleted, but I think a merge is more appropriate. — subtank 13:09, 26 December 2013 (EST)
