:: Without an actual annotation, it's considered speculation, correct, and not to be included in main text of an article? I'm not fully versed on what constitutes canon here. I'll kick open ODST later and have a look. (I do believe those bios in the game erroneously refer to the Say My Name as a frigate or something incorrect anyway. :) ) Anyhoo, it's news to me if that's the case. If it was commonly known, I'd have expected an annotation, not just an assertion. Regardless, to me it wouldn't make sense: If Buck and Dare had both been on assignment to the UNSC Say My Name, then the opening cutscene reactions wouldn't have seemed like they hadn't seen one another for a while, the rest of the ODST squad wouldn't have been reacting to her as someone they hadn't met before, and the captain of the Say My Name wouldn't have reacted to her as he did if she was already stationed aboard his ship. It doesn't add up in my opinion. ScaleMaster117 (talk) 16:18, 9 June 2013 (EDT)

:::Found it: "Most of her dossier is classified, but Dare is a known Naval Academy Graduate and former Intel Officer on the heavy frigate 'Say My Name', one of two ships from the Harvest campaign still in service. Dare is now assigned to ONI Section One." (as seen here). But you're definitely right in that this one should've been properly cited; that would've helped avert this confusion. Anyways, as for Buck and Dare not meeting each other for some time before the events of ODST, the bio provides a reasonable answer: it's noted that she is a former Intelligence Officer on the Say My Name, meaning that she could've held that post any number of years earlier, before Buck's squad or even the then-current captain was assigned to the ship. The ship is indeed mistakenly referred to as a heavy frigate, though I think this can be forgiven as a typo or a relic from an earlier stage in the game's production - maybe the SMN was originally supposed to be a frigate? --Jugus (Talk | Contribs) 15:25, 14 June 2013 (EDT)
