JEA13[edit]

Major Threads[edit]

The Main Series[edit]

  • You cannot disagree with 343 Guilty Spark. The monitor knows well his rings' capabilities and what he says is true. So yes, the explosion would destroy the Ark 100%.
  • Most probably, after the destruction of the Ark, the other Installations would have gone out of control, moving around in space, or even "eaten" by the gas giants they orbit.
  • The Legendary Planet must be near the Ark as the rear part of the Dawn didn't go through the slipspace jump and therefore stayed around the Ark's vincinity. The other two questions are mostly polls rather than knowledge.
  • --

Curiosities[edit]

  • --
  • --
  • --
  • Both are safe to say, Monitors prefer singular, Covenant prefer plural.
  • A reclaimer is the Forerunner who will find and ignite the Index in case of another Flood outbreak. This term was used only AFTER the first activation, that's why its called reclaimer.
  • Chiron most probably exists, Derelict would mess up canon if it did. Nevertheless, I don't think that multiplayer levels have anything to do with the storyline.
  • Neither Halsey nor Gettysburg is referred to in the Halo Graphic Novel.
  • Humans have an extremely low tech Tier and therefore are unable to explain...
  • The author's desire to create some difference in the plot. A Spartan retiring makes no sense.
  • --
  • Just a deleted race.
  • --
  • What do you mean "so far"? The Dreadnought made course to Earth, which means the Portal!
  • --
  • I think he is just hot headed XD He didn't expect the Chief to be actually able to find Cortana, thats why.
  • Yeah, what's the big deal? Of course there were already several Covenant on outposts, homeworlds, maybe other installations...
  • Well, the Halo network was firstly discovered when the FuD reached installation 05, and the Halo as a ring was discovered months earlier, when the PoA found out about the installation 04. The Flood were firstly discovered when the dudes on the SoF were on the shield world, and officially discovered when Binseti, Mendoza, Riley, Kappus and all these guys tried to look for a weapons cache.
  • --
  • The Kig-Yar will most probably change sides or leave the Covenant, as they are pure mercenaries and without payment, they do nothing. And where will they find payment from the Covenant now? XD
  • Bah, I don't think so. There will be no sequels to Halo 3, so it's just for.... philathropy reasons, you know, to make people have some hope about the Chief's future.
  • --
  • Some kind of flood Spore was created a long time ago on anther galaxy and after many travels and adventures they found themselves on Milky Way, where they were exterminated and contaminated by the Forerunners. There are many ways for life to begin, like panspermia. Look it up on wikipedia. --—The preceding unsigned comment was made by JEA13 (talkcontribs)02:58, 27 July 2009.

Re: JEA13[edit]

Major threads: The main series[edit]

  • You can when all life in the universe is potentially at stake. "Destroyed" can have shades of meaning well short of "down to the atom". I'll grant that it's presumed permanent for now, but I'm not sure I trust the writers not to go back there eventually when they need a new threat. And there's still the Flood spores to justify the expedition either way.
  • Orbits do not work that way.
  • That would make the most sense, but it still bugs me that the planet isn't shown or mentioned before the Dawn gets split, and the Ark's remains aren't shown or mentioned after. And we don't know how much time actually passes between "Wake me when you need me" and the final scene. Basically an official answer would be nice. As for the other two questions, no idea what you mean.
  • --

Curiosities[edit]

  • --
  • --
  • --
  • Actually, on further reading I'm not sure plural Forerunner is canon at all; Cortana uses the S on Two Betrayals, unlike what I remembered, and Guilty Spark uses it on The Great Journey. I'm removing the question for now.
  • Source?
  • Mess up canon how? And I don't have a source, but I'm pretty sure Bungie has said otherwise, at least for Halo 2 and on.
  • Page 122: "The query is from the Gettysburg and it's got charlie hotel 4695's thumbs all over it.".
  • Probably, but on the other hand it's not like they're under a time limit.
  • I meant why did the Precursors or Forerunners build it; and that's defeatist talk.
  • --
  • Not deleted; the mention in Conversations makes it canon.
  • --
  • Not according to the timeline I linked. It's probably best left alone if H3O doesn't cover it, but it still bugs me slightly.
  • --
  • On further thought, that does make sense; replacing the question.
  • Source? The big deal is whether or not H3 marks the real end of the war.
  • Assumption. I'm pretty sure there are at least theories to the contrary, and CH doesn't help matters with Brutes, Drones, Engineers and Monitors all being known of in 2525.
  • --
  • Still, like the Ark they *could* get brought out by 343 when they need a new threat. I'm just noting it as a potential future plot.
  • On further thought, that also makes sense. I have the planet covered further up anyway, so deleting.
  • --
  • Just did, but I don't see the connection to your answer. Also, source?

Thanks for reading regardless, and to be fair, I used User: in the first place so I wouldn't have to justify what I put in. --Document 02:21, 29 July 2009 (UTC)

Sources[edit]

Heh, there are not sources to all of this. If there were sources, the info would have been written down on our wiki. We just make logical assumptions.

  • "You can when all life in the universe is potentially at stake."? Dude, 343 Guilty Spark does not take any side on this war, he simply wants to activate the rings to "contain the outbreak". the Ark is not an organism, so even if it gets "down to the atom", how is it going to recreate itself, especially now that all the Monitors will be out of control? Also, understand this: there will N E V E R be any sequels to Halo 3, so every use of the Flood will be considered canon as thrwe won't be any prequels to Halo: CE as well.
  • The Conversations mention the Sharquoi along with other deleted races, clarifying that they are deleted and do not play any role in the storyline.
  • Forerunner is the term I use to describe the race, but as major characters have also called them Forerunners, it is valid.
  • NOBODY can know how the Flood were created, as said above I just make logical assumptions that try to connect on the info Halopedia and Wikipedia have as of now. MAybe, after the release of the Forerunner trilogy we get more info on this.
  • Why only Derelict and Chiron and not Boarding Action, Sidewinder, Blood Gulch or Timberland? O_o They do have some map description as well.
  • That is why the Legendary Planet is unknown; it has been never mentioned. It's just a planet with no significance, as I said added to the game for the players to have some hope about MC's future.
  • If you don't like how I described reclaimer, I don't care. I sumed up is two sentences the most important info. A reclaimer is any Human/Forerunner whose quest is to activate the rings in case of a Flood outbreak, and this term was used only after the first detonation. kthxbai.
  • THE REASON MARIA RETIRED WAS THE AUTHOR'S DESIRE TO MAKE SOME DIFFERENCE ON THE PLOT. YOU YOURSELF SAID IT, DOES NOT MAKE SENSE FOR A SPARTAN TO RETIRE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE WAR.
  • We can't know anything about the Precursors; our only hopes of learning anything is the release of the Forerunner trilogy.

BTW, sorry for not replying to the questions in the same sequence as the questions: i tried to refer to the question on the answer. - JEA13 [iTalk] 19:24, 30 July 2009 (UTC)

Fair enough. Anyway:
- If there's no source for a claim, then for the purpose of the list it's not a fact.
- The Ark is a manufacturing platform for Halos; it makes sense that it could build parts for itself too. And the ring's explosion just doesn't look that powerful to me. Is there a source saying there won't be any sequels?
- I have the booklet; it just says "soon we may be able to use the Sharquoi", not anything about it being deleted.
- Agreed on calling them Forerunners.
- That's a contradiction; if it gets revealed in the Forerunner trilogy, then we *can* know. Until then, it's an unanswered question, which is why it's on the list.
- They're the only H1 maps I know of that raise interesting questions; the others are mostly just random locations on the ring. I'll add Boarding Action.
- I've lost the thread about the Legendary Planet.
- Source for the definition of reclaimer?
- I didn't say it didn't make sense, but I'll edit the list so it looks less like I'm implying that. And it's still unsourced.
- Another contradiction; we probably *will* learn more about the Precursors in the trilogy. Until then, it stays on the list.

I admit that you are searching about this a lot; and so, if there were sources for the questions you have written, you would have found them, and they would not be unanswered questions in Halo. Which means that you either accept opinions, or wait until more info is released in future projects. If differently, you will be just searching aimelessly for sources that do not exist.
But in fact, there is a source about that sequel thingy. If you remember, at the SC.. something 2009 day, some weeks ago, Bungie confirmed that Halo: Reach will be the last video game project and there will be no continue to the trilogy in future books. - JEA13 [iTalk] 21:48, 31 July 2009 (UTC)
Microsoft has the rights to Halo, so that's not really something Bungie can decide. --Document 22:06, 31 July 2009 (UTC)
Microsoft owns Bungie, not Halo. Whether or not new Halo games will be made, its up to Bungie to decide. - JEA13 [iTalk] 10:24, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
Source? Specifically, one from after 2007 October 5? --Document 23:49, 1 August 2009 (UTC)
Source, source, source... screw that. Everyone knows that. Source for Bungie's owners? WTF? Where can I find one? Everyone knows that, Bungie has said that. Come on...- JEA13 [iTalk] 10:34, September 15, 2009 (UTC)
Yes, I'm refusing to accept your assertion without evidence, and nowhere, respectively. --Document 04:33, September 18, 2009 (UTC)
Oh. So I spent so much time here for no reason. You seem not to be able to understand that if there were sources that implied an answer to these questions, they wouldn't be unanswered. KTHXBAI. -JEA13 [iTalk] 11:30, September 18, 2009 (UTC)
Yes and no, respectively. It's common knowledge that Microsoft doesn't own Bungie; I never said that was unanswered. --Document 01:14, September 19, 2009 (UTC)
Ok then, see you around. - JEA13 [iTalk] 11:14, October 9, 2009 (UTC)

Notes[edit]

  • I should probably sort "Curiosities" into two lists; minor threads that are clearly intended and curiosities that are possibly unintended.
  • Possibly I should evaluate these and these sometime, but I don't feel like it right now.
  • I should read the Terminals and figure out if they really imply that Forerunners survived.
