:Well, ''Cryptum'' fairly explicitly states that the location of the core is known only to the Master Builder; given the state of Forerunner technology, I'm not sure there would need to be anyone to "work there", though it's likely that he would need some kind of AI to help him produce Slipspace drives from the core. Only the Master Builder

- Well, Cryptum fairly explicitly states that the location of the core is known only to the Master Builder; given the state of Forerunner technology, I'm not sure there would need to be anyone to "work there", though it's likely that he would need some kind of AI to help him produce Slipspace drives from the core. My guess is that there's some kind of safeguard in place to ensure that the location remains hidden.
