Sand Trap is a multiplayer map that was shown to press at E3 2007 in video form and is to be featured in Halo 3.

Overall Information

Quotes from various sites: "We saw all of this on a new map called Sandtrap. It's the largest map yet in Halo, and an endless backdrop of sand dunes make it tough to find the edges." - Kotaku[1]

"The guys from Bungie decided to show us a new multiplayer level called Sand Trap, which takes place in a desert environment that also appears to be centered around some large ruins." - TeamXbox[2]

Error?

With vague descriptions like those, one would think that Sand Trap is actually Shrine. The press highlighted the map with words such as "Desert" and "Sand Dunes", along with the impression it was the "...largest map yet in Halo...". Only the final release of Halo 3 will tell.
