The Path of Control is a system utilized by the Covenant military, somewhat analogous to the human chain of command. The Path of Control was derived from traditional Sangheili bonds, where loyalty was always personal: strong for the leader of one's keep, but more tenuous with each step removed.

History

During the Battle of Netherop, Fleetmaster Nizat 'Kvarosee ignored the Path of Control by directly giving orders to a Spectre crew, where normal situations would dictate he give his orders to a First Cannon, which would in turn relay the orders to the vehicles.
