Covenant Artificial Intelligence

The only known Covenant AI is the Unnamed Covenant AI that was encountered by Cortana on the Covenant Flagship know as Ascendant Justice. While very little is known about it, it can be assumed that it is created in very much the same way as a UNSC smart AI, by mapping the neurological pathways of the brain and recreating its basic structure in the programming. We can assume this as it is carries many of the personality traits of a Sangheili or other devout Covenant species. We see this as it calls Cortana's enhancing of Covenant systems as "heresy".

Origin

It is questionable as to where the Covenant found the technology to create an artificial intellegence. As the Covenant consider anything created by Humans and UNSC heresy, it is highly unlikely that the technology was stolen. The Prophets do dissect Forerunner technology to gain knowledge of the Forerunners, but it is unlikely that they would dissect a Forerunner AI. The only known forerunner AI's are the Oracles or Monitors of the Halo installations. Because of this, it is nothing more than speculation as to where their AI's actually come from.

Trivia

• While Covenant technology is generally superior to UNSC, Cortana was able to completely destroy the Unnamed Covenant AI, even though she was logged down heavily with data from Installation 04.
• It is assumed that there were many more Covenant AI's aboard the Unyeilding Heirophant, as something was actively working through the systems to eliminate the copies of Cortana that had infested their system.
