Installation 02 is one of the seven Halo Rings. Very little is known about it and it has yet to be directly observed.

Readouts of the ring on Installation 00 show it to be covered in blue with few distinguishing features. However, it cannot be said for certain if the ring is an icy world. It may be just the holo-image. [1].

In 2552, during the Battle of Installation 05, a signal was sent to this Installation from Installation 05, putting it on standby mode. A readout from Installation 05's Control Room showed that Installation 02 was fully prepared to fire on demand.[2]

Deactivation

A more comprehensive readout was later observed in the Installation 00, showing the inner ring to be covered in water, or some form of blue rocks, during the battle by the Arbiter, John-117 and the Prophet of Truth. Once again displaying that Installation 02 was on standby mode, being prepared to receive the signal to fire [3]. However, John-117 deactivated the installation before it could be fired.

Trivia

  • The inner, inhabitable, surface of this installation has an icy terrain similar to other Halo installations.[4]
  • The Monitor's number for this Installation is 7. This is due to the equation 7n-1 where n is the Installation's number.
  • This ring is often mistaken for Installation 06 because of the order of the rings in the level the Covenant. Although it is not so because Installation 05 is the 5th ring from the platform on which Truth and the Brutes reside rather than the direction in which the player enters the area. (whereas the 5th ring in from the entrance has a volcanic surface, and this is obviously not so as Delta Halo had an identical surface to Installation 04)
  • The surface looks very icy like so that the Flood may have not escaped yet.
  • The Surface image is a picture of the surface of Miranda, one of Uranus' moons.
