Most Zealots wear ornate maroon armor that, while ornate, is more subdued in design than the suits worn by Sangheili of lower ranks. It features a smooth, organic thoracic cage harness; large, sloping shoulder pauldrons; and a long, backward-swept helmet with side-mounted mandible guards. Zealots in the Storm wear much more feral-looking armor. Their harnesses and helmets are far more angular, resulting in a vaguely insectoid appearance. Their helmets vaguely resemble those worn by the [[Ascetics]] and have a cross-shaped pattern of purple insets facing outward from a central point.<ref name="Storm"/>
