Viperidae was the location of Admiral [[Preston Cole]]'s "[[Battle of Psi Serpentis|Last Stand]]." The [[Battlegroup India]] engaged an massive [[Covenant Empire|Covenant]] [[Covenant Fleet|armada]] in orbit. The planet was destroyed by the hundred [[Shiva-class Nuclear Missile|Shiva warheads]] Cole launched into it's core, briefly igniting into a brown dwarf star. The nuclear cacophony that followed obliterated the entire [[Covenant]] fleet, well over 200 ships, and led to the presumed death of Preston Cole.
