	Not sure how its similar to the Aztecs or Mayans, but Iagree with Subs on the genetic link. I've never been a big fan of the humans=Forerunners theory, and though we know there's ''something'' between them, we still haven't been explicitly told ''what'' it is. As for the Halo's devastation - perhaps the Forerunners were pressed for time, and coukldn't find a way to make them differentiate between Flood and non-Flood?
