It is a more ornamental version of the [[Type-25 Assault Gun Carriage|standard Wraith]], similar to the "Flame Decal Warthog". Only its appearance is different, as it has a paint scheme that appears similar to the [[Halo 2]] [[Sangheili]] Honor Guard armor hence the name (Honor Guard Wraith.)

The Honor Guard Wraith is a special skin available for the Wraith unit in ''[[Halo Wars]]''. In the original game release, it is included as a downloadable code alongside the [[Fireball Warthog]] with a purchase of the ''[[Halo Wars Limited Edition]]'', though was included for all players in the release of ''[[Halo Wars: Definitive Edition]]''. The skins for both vehicles can be toggled on/off as a setting in the in-game menus, in which the Honor Guard skin will replace all player-owned Wraiths, no matter what upgrade stage they are at.

The Honor Guard Wraith is mostly the same in combat. Some think it is distinctly more powerful and faster. In the skulls menu it claims that it is a "Unique variant of the Covenant Wraith". It is driven by experienced Honor Guard Elites, unlike regular Elite Minors, which should technically give it a drastic increase in combat efficiency.
