::Actually, I'm curious whether A) the Legendary icon was created with this plot twist in mind or B) the scene om Escalation #9 was written as a subtle Easter egg. I suppose the former is more likely. It's clever nonetheless. --Our vengeance is at hand. (Talk to me.) 15:23, 4 September 2014 (EDT)
:::Nickpicker alert: You misspelled "on". In regards to your comment, wouldn't I be wrong or were you being just as sarcastic as I was? lol I honestly didn't see it as a spoiler considering it's been a week since the release. But what made me sarcastic was the way he wrote everything especially the "before being composed" part. To be honest, just like you, I found it to be interesting but I didn't pay it too much mind. I would have if the Didact actually pulled the knife out of his eye socket or better yet, removed his helmet to pull it out leaving a bloody eye socket. Otherwise, w/ the helmet still on, it kind of obscures the resemblance.--Killamin7 [Comm|Files] 16:06, 4 September 2014 (EDT)
::::The move really was for the sake of the handful of people who haven't read the issue. Honestly. The way it conforms to the OP's tone is just a bonus. ;) Anyway, there's one thing I noticed the first time I read the issue which has bothered me on subsequent readings. The Didact's eye slits clearly don't line up with his eyes in Halo 4. Food for thought.
::::P.S.: That was actually supposed to be "in". My typo was even worse than you thought. For shame. :( --Our vengeance is at hand. (Talk to me.) 16:41, 4 September 2014 (EDT)
:::::I thought I was the only one who noticed that. It does look like the eye slits are lower than where his eyes are. Maybe that explains why he didn't flinch when he got stabbed. Otherwise I'd expect him to bend over holding his eye in pain, screaming "My eye! My eye!". Honestly, I think I would've loved HE#9 if they drew that in the panel instead of him non-chalauntly (spelling) taking the pain and grabbing John.--Killamin7 [Comm|Files] 18:21, 4 September 2014 (EDT)
::::::I can kind of buy his casual reaction to the stabbing. His armor would probably numb the pain faster than he can register it was even there, fast as his reflexes may be (unless he chooses to feel it). It'll probably start fixing his eye immediately, as long as he survives long enough for that. Though I still find it strange his armor didn't apparently feature any point defenses or 360° sensor coverage around him (a useful thing to have, since he could easily process that information). Or that a knife could cut it. Honestly, the scene would've been improved if it had taken real firepower to even hurt the Didact. Think something like the battle against Guilty Spark at the end of Halo 3: a Spartan Laser or railgun blast having the same effect the knife has now would do more justice to the notion of how powerful this guy is supposed to be. --Jugus (Talk | Contribs) 00:10, 5 September 2014 (EDT)
:::::::Makes logical sense that his armor may have numbed the pain of the knife. As for coverage, maybe his armor lacks a motion detector or does but it's malfuntioning (after Halo 4). But I do admit, I was hoping for some gun battle between him and blue team. As far as firepower, the only weapons bt had on them at the time were assault rifles. But it seems as though a scattershot is powerful enough to make him stagger.--Killamin7 [Comm|Files] 12:50, 9 September 2014 (EDT)
