During the [[Fall of Reach]] on [[2552#July|July 26, 2552]], [[Covenant Empire|the Covenant]] had cut off communications from SWORD Base during [[First Battle of Sword Base|an attack]]. [[Kat-B320]] and [[SPARTAN-B312]] were ordered to reactivate the [[COM]] array at Farragut Station in order to contact [[United Nations Space Command|UNSC]] Command. A small Covenant force was occupying the base at that time.<ref name=sword />

Between [[2552#August|August 14]] and August 29, Covenant forces occupying Sword Base built a defensive position at Farragut Station. However, by the time of arrival the station had been flooded due to ice melt from Covenant activity, leaving only the rooftops above water. The team destroyed the Covenant defensive position before moving on toward the objective.
