The station was in orbit around [[Reach]] during the [[Fall of Reach]] in [[2552#August|August 2552]], and was defended by Sabres during [[Operation: UPPERCUT]]. The station's defenses were off-line when the Covenant attacked, and a group of Sabres was deployed to repel the incoming waves of [[Type-27 XMF|Banshees]] and later [[Type-31 XMF|Seraphs]]. When the third wave of Covenant fighters arrived, ''Anchor 9'''s point defense guns came back online.<ref name="video"/> During the third wave, several [[Type-52 Troop Carrier|Phantoms]] arrived and attempted to attack the station, but were destroyed.
