Tango Company was a UNSC Marine Corps company that was stationed on Reach, and participated in the training of the Spartan-IIs. The company's flag was green with a single white star.

Background
Tango Company was a group of Marines of the UNSC posted at Reach in 2523. Chief Petty Officer Mendez made the Spartans train with Tango Company by making them play games of Capture the Flag. As of July 14, the Spartans had played seven such games, and Tango Company was getting tired of losing, so they stopped playing by the rules, using live rounds and abusing captured Spartans.
Tango Company was tasked with playing games of capture the flag against the young Spartan-II trainees. As of July 14, 2523 the Spartans and the Marines had played seven such games, with Tango Company losing every one of them. Tango Company, tired of constant defeat, stopped playing by the rules. They began using live ammunition and abusing Spartan trainees that they caught in their "territory", such as James-005, whom they claimed had "fallen down a flight of stairs" in their single story jail while being transferred to a different cell. It took James a full week to recover from his injuries. The Marines of the company also began referring to the Spartans as "the freak Section Three kids".

Despite the Marines cheating, the Spartans were still victorious, winning once again; this time by infiltrating the base and detonating stun grenades beneath Tango company's barracks buildings, inflicting many casualties. Then, neutralizing the guards around the flag pole with Narq-dart pistols, the Spartans snatched the flag and hid in the trees. Tango Company sent a Pelican transport in an effort to trick the Spartans into thinking their exfiltration craft had arrived. But, not fooled, the young supersoldiers once again outsmarted and overcame the hapless Marines.
Nevertheless, the Spartans were able to win time and time again, once by infiltrating the base and exploding Stun Grenades beneath the barracks of the company, inflicting many casualties, then sniping the guards around the flag pole and hiding in the trees. Tango Company then sent a Pelican to try to trick the Spartans, but once again, they outsmarted and overcame Tango Company.

List of appearances
Many times the Spartans were referred to as the "freak Section Three kids" due to the fact that Tango Company was tired of losing games against a bunch of 12 year olds. More than once they had mistreated the Spartans, in particular James, whom they had captured during one of the games. They claimed he "fell" down a flight of stairs while transfering from cells in their single-story base. It took James a full week to recover from his injuries.

NOTE: Tango Company is only part of a larger unit, which is never specifically named. It is standard to name different companies of a unit by letter, so theoretically, there is a "Tango Company" in every Division of troops. Note this to clear any potential confusion.
