| Hello, and welcome to my UserWiki! Just on a formal note, my name is Dan. There, introductions are over, now for the fun part. Basically, I'm in love with ''Halo''. I'm not obsessed, nor am I the ''Halo'' equivalent to a ''Call of Duty'' fan-boy. I'm in love with the story. It's the perfect mix of everything anyone could ever love in a story. In all truth, anyone that doesn't like Halo probably hasn't payed any attention to the characters and events that have taken place in the fictional universe. It is a brilliant work of art in my eyes. Now, and I am ashamed to admit it, I haven't been around for the entirety of ''Halo's'' lifetime. I came around just before the release of ''Halo Wars'' when my friend introduced me to both the X-box 360 and ''Halo 3''. I immediately got an X-box and ''Halo 3''. (Actually, I bought ''Halo 3: ODST'', thinking it was ''Halo 3''. I was so disappointed with myself when I played it for the first time!) Once ''Halo: Reach'' came out, I started to become very involved with the ''Halo'' universe. I am now a wealth of ''Halo'' knowledge. There is possibly nothing I couldn't answer regarding the ''Halo'' universe.

| Now, you may be wondering, what the hell does Iota Eta Pi mean? Well it's a joke... My sad attempt at a joke. (Well I think it's funny!) Anyway, they are three Greek letters: Iota (<span style="font-family: Times New Roman">Ιι</span>) Eta (<span style="font-family: Times New Roman">Ηη</span>) and Pi (<span style="font-family: Times New Roman">Ππ</span>). Iota is pronounced "yah-tuh", Eta is pronounced "ee-tuh", and Pi is obviously pronounced "pie." So, when you say it together, it sounds similar to the phrase "you oughtta' eat a pie!" Clever, right? ... Don't laugh at me.

| Daniel, born on May 24, 2534, was the child of a financially struggling, middle class civilian family on [[Earth]]. In 2545, he was abducted into the [[SPARTAN-III Program]]. Most believe that [[SPARTAN-III Gamma Company|Gamma Company]] was the last SPARTAN-III company to have existed. The [[Office of Naval Intelligence]], however, created a final, classified company, consisting of ten specially trained, specially augmented children. Daniel was one of these children abducted into the SPARTAN-III Omega Company. They were given random service numbers between 1 and 300 so there would be no suspicion as to why there were so few Spartans being trained in the company, in case of a leak to the public or a lower branch of the military. Trained on the planet [[Coral]], more brutally and mercilessly than any [[SPARTAN-II Program|Spartan-II]] or Spartan-III, Daniel and the other nine Spartans became the absolute best soldiers the [[United Nations Space Command|UNSC]] could ever have. He was given the service tag Daniel-O225 after the augmentations were given to him.

| ===Reach===

| In May of 2552, Daniel along with two other Spartans under his command, Justin-O193 and Crystal-O161, were deployed to [[Reach]] as part of a defense maneuver, in case of any [[Covenant Empire|Covenant]] attack. By July, the Covenant found Reach and began [[Fall of Reach|their assault]]. Daniel, Justin and Crystal, known as Omega Company Red Team, significantly helped during the Fall of Reach. Red Team single-handedly destroyed the {{Class|CPV|heavy destroyer}} ''Life-giving Virtue'' and two {{Class|CCS|battlecruiser}}s, the ''Fist of Righteousness'' and the ''Never-ending Light''. Red Team could operate with the effectiveness of an entire UNSC [[fleet]], and in half the time. It was not until Operation: GRAND FINALE, the UNSC's first attempt at [[Operation: UPPER CUT]], that Omega Company Red Team had it's first defeat. They attempted to use [[Anchor 9|Anchor 9's]] last three [[HORNET Mine|HORNET Mines]] to destroy the {{Class|CSO|supercarrier}} ''[[Long Night of Solace]]''. Instead of hijacking a smaller ship and board the ''Solace'', like during Operation: UPPER CUT, Red Team directly boarded the supercarrier. The three Spartans, with their immense strength, intelligence and teamwork, thought they would get the job done as cleanly as they had their other missions. While planting the HORNETs, fourteen [[Sangheili]] warriors, thirteen [[Sangheili Zealot|Zealots]] led by one [[Sangheili Field Marshal|Field Marshal]], sneaked into the engine room and launched a surprise skirmish on Red Team. Daniel, realizing the overwhelming force of the Sangheili warriors, signaled for maneuver Alpha-12. Justin and Crystal acknowledged. They threw their faux grenades down and they detonated. There was no explosion, just smoke, a booming sound, and shrapnel to simulate an explosion. The three jumped forward, grabbing three of the Sangheili by the neck and dragging them backwards into the smoke. They swiftly killed them, grabbed their [[Type-1 Energy Weapon/Sword|energy swords]] and sprung forward, past the rest of the Covenant warriors. They ran out and Daniel called for an evac. Crystal realized that the mine had been prepared, but they hadn't had time to activate it. Without warning the others, she went back to activate it alone. Daniel-O225 and Justin-O193 had ran a mile before noticing she had left. Daniel, after evacuating in a pelican with Justin, notified ONI and she had been declared MIA as per [[Office of Naval Intelligence Directive 930|ONI Directive 930]]. The HORNETs never detonated, and Crystal-O161 was never seen by human eyes again.

| ===Earth===

| Once they were evacuated, the remnants of Red Team were sent to Earth. There, Daniel and Justin began rigorous training exorcises to make sure that nothing like the incident on the ''Long Night of Solace'' would ever happen again, after which Daniel was promoted to the rank of [[Senior Chief Petty Officer]]. On October 18, 2552, the rest of Omega Company; Red Team, Blue Team, Black Team and White Team, gathered on the [[orbital defense platform]] ''Shanghai Station'' due to ONI having suspicions that the Covenant secretly knew the location of Earth. Coincidentally, on October 20, the [[Battle of Earth|Covenant arrived at Earth]]. ''Shanghai Station'' was the first ODP to be boarded, and Omega Company quickly went to work. They quickly neutralized all Covenant on the station and were soon ordered by [[Colonel]] [[James Ackerson|Ackerson]], the head of the SPARTAN-III Program, to drop to Earth in the [[Single Occupant Exoatmospheric Insertion Vehicle|SOEIVs]] that were supposed to be used by the [[Orbital Drop Shock Trooper|ODSTs]] on board. Unfortunately, there were only eight that could be in ''Shanghai Station'' at one time. Daniel, being the highest ranked of Omega Company, ordered the rest of the team to take an SOEIV and drop to Earth, except for Justin-O193. Once the team departed after readying themselves for multiple firefights, Daniel told Justin to enter his pod, and drop as normal. Justin got in and as he was preparing to drop, Daniel grasped onto the backside of it. Justin's SOEIV fell toward Earth, and Daniel held on with almost no effort at all. As they were dropping, both Daniel and Justin noticed that the [[Solemn Penance|flagship]] of the [[Fleet of Sacred Consecration|small invading fleet]] was making an inter-atmospheric [[Slipstream space|slipspace]] jump over the city of [[New Mombasa]], and, as it just so happened, all eight drop pods and Daniel landed on the ship, and the portal closed, sealing them off from the universe they knew.

| ===Slipstream Space===

| Omega Company dared not move. The physics of slipstream space were strange, and no one really knew how they worked. Daniel knew that they had to get into the ''Penance'' as soon as possible, as objects could not travel in a straight line in the extra dimension for very long. At any moment, any of them could be instantly transported to any point in slipspace. The only way to be sure they would stay with the carrier was to be ''in'' it. Daniel needed a way into the ship. The SOEIVs were lodged into the [[energy shielding]] of the ''Penance'', so Daniel used this to his advantage. He swiftly pushed each drop pod through and let himself fall into the last hole. Now inside the energy barrier, Daniel ordered Justin to come out of his HEV. Justin was the only Spartan in Omega Company to be involved with the top-secret [[project GUNGNIR]]. His armor was integrated with advanced technology that had been developed in the classified program. He had a CBRN/HU/RS attached onto [[MJOLNIR Powered Assault Armor/G Variant|his helmet]], a video camera "eye" on the left side of his face and, most importantly, a [[M6 Grindell/Galilean Nonlinear Rifle|Spartan Laser]] built into each of his palms. Each battery was good for up to five shots on the highest power setting, but turned on low it could emit a steady beam that could melt through anything known to man, and hopefully the Covenant alloy that the assault carrier was composed of. Justin turned both lasers on and started to burn through the ship's hull. It took about ten minutes, but it eventually ate through. Justin then punched through the now weakened metal and managed to tear a hole just large enough for all of them to slip through one at a time. When they all got through, along with all of the gear they had stored in their SOEIVs Daniel tore a Covenant barricade into a sheet and had Justin weld it over the hole to stop the atmospheric leak. The Spartans couldn't stay in this chamber forever. The Covenant would eventually find them, and even with the incredible training Omega Company had, they had almost no resources and there were thousands of troops on the ship. To put it simply, they were out numbered seven hundred to one. The only thing they could do is attempt to take over the Covenant assault carrier. They needed a plan, as hijacking the bridge of the ''Penance'' would be no easy task. They reviewed their equipment that they had taken with them onto their drop pods. They came out with a total of one [[MA5C Individual Combat Weapon System|assault rifle]], four [[BR55 Heavy Barrel Service Rifle|battle rifles]], two [[M7/Caseless Submachine Gun|submachine guns]], two [[M90 Close Assault Weapon System|shotguns]], one [[Sniper Rifle System 99 Anti-Matériel|sniper rifle]], one Spartan Laser, one [[M41 Surface-to-Surface Rocket Medium Anti-Vehicle/Assault Weapon|rocket launcher]], six [[M6D Personal Defense Weapon System|M6D Pistols]], twenty-seven [[M9 High-Explosive Dual-Purpose grenade|fragmentation grenades]] and two [[Bubble shield|bubble shields]], [[TR/9 antipersonnel mine|trip mines]] and [[active camouflage|active camouflages]]. Each soldier also had their own personal, and customized, [[combat knife]]. Daniel preferred a simple knife, elongated about two inches. The teams assassin, Rayu-O063 had two combat knives that were thinned to resemble a needle, and they were both balanced for throwing. He was a genius with them, able to kill a Sangheili warrior from a hundred meters away with one elegant throw. Once the Spartans had their gear, they set off into the bowels of the ''Solemn Penance''. ~To Be Continued~
