The '''Cold Storage Monitor''' is a [[Monitor|monitor]] on the ceiling of the [[multiplayer]] map, [[Cold Storage]] in [[Halo 3|''Halo 3'']]. The "Monitor" follows your movements, but will stop once you leave the room. It should be noted that the Monitor on the ceiling is not [[2401 Penitent Tangent]], for it's far too large, and Penitent Tangent has a red "eye" (although the red eye may be possibly due to [[rampancy]], which is similarly what [[343 Guilty Spark]] displayed during rampancy), in fact it is several times the size of an average Monitor, such as the player's model whilst in [[Forge]]. It has been speculated to be a "local caretaker," designated to watch over the facility like a prison guard, similar to a "dumb" [[UNSC]] [[AI]]. It seems to have failed as the [[Flood]] have mostly taken over the facility, although no Flood can be seen in the main room in which this Monitor resides, so perhaps, in a way, it has succeeded. This Monitor is also invincible, and cannot be harmed by [[grenades]], [[Human|human]] [[weapons]], [[Sentinel Beam]]s, or [[Plasma]] weapons.
