Based upon what limited information that is available, the scanning device is probably deployed either aboard the Booster Frames, or deployed onto the hull of a target vessel, in this case, a [[CCS-class Battlecruiser|''CCS''-class Battlecruiser]]. It can also probably be inferred that the Covenant were able to fool these devices by possibly rigging multiple Antimatter Charges with a false signal transmitter programmed to broadcast on the same frequency of Dr. Halsey's beacon, and the bombs themselves programmed to detonate once the false signal is investigated. | |||
