The Major in "The Package" was originally intended to be [[Thel 'Vadamee]], the future Arbiter, as foreshadowed by 'Taralumee's final line. However, ''[[Halo: The Cole Protocol]]'' (released a year before ''Halo Legends'') had previously established that 'Vadamee's first encounter with a Spartan was in [[2535]], at which time he was already a [[Zealot]]. To add to this, the manner in which 'Lodamee is foreshadowed to become the Arbiter is inconsistent with the manner in which 'Vadamee was anointed into the role. The Definitive Edition of ''Halo: The Fall of Reach'' rectified the discrepancy by establishing 'Lodamee as a separate character; his prior engagement with the Spartans was revealed to have resulted in his killing of Sheila-065, whose death Dr. Halsey is said to have witnessed in ''[[Halo: Ghosts of Onyx]]''.
