::I honestly don't know if it's even necessary to have a separate article for the SFTE if we go with "slipspace drive" for the umbrella page. Granted, there are a bit more specifics available on the human drives, but the general idea is still the same. The articles actually used to be split way back, but they were merged for that very reason - there really wasn't enough distinguishing info to justify keeping them separate. It's true, though, that "slipspace drive" or "translight engine" would be a better title for the general article. Technically, one could argue that any slipspace drive could be considered to qualify as an "SFTE" insofar as one might formally call slipspace "Shaw-Fujikawa space", but it's not really a strong justification. --Jugus (talk) 02:59, 12 January 2018 (EST)

:::You mentioned the reason that the articles where merged way back when was because of a lack of distinguishing info. Considering all the stuff that's been released since then(in particular Halo: Warfleet) I would imagine we have a bit more distinguishments between human, Covenant, and Forerunner slipspace drives. Also, there's the different models we now know human FTL drives have to consider.--D9328 (talk) 11:34, 12 January 2018 (EST)d9328
