Sequel??
Title Image
Does anyone else get the hint that there is going to be a sequel? I mean, like, the legendary ending and how Cutter puts something of Forge's into a cryo chamber (What is that, anyways?) Yeah I know that Ensemble is closing, but the new Robot people could probably pull it off. Anyone else think that there could be a sequel? 02:45, 21 March 2009 (UTC)
It says it is pending a rating. Someone should fix that. --Sangheili Commando 021: Fluffball Gato 20:16, November 8, 2009 (UTC)

Who are these Spartans? Do you think they'll ever reveal to us, throughout the course of the story, who they are (i.e. Name and Number)? Also, do you think they'll show us their faces? Their helmets, contrary to populat belief, are not stuck on. H1's ending shows John taking off his helmet, H2's start and H3's ad both show John putting on his helmet. Also, in the books, the Spartan have been shown their faces before. Normally only in the presense of other Spartans or trusted accosiates, like Halsey, but still...

Just chacked. The whole OMEGA group in campaign mode has names, numbers, everything. No appereance without helmets, though. Nor they've appearead as something more than just Spartan-IIs in off-game cinematics yet. "Talking head" is just the helmet.

That's right. But who knows what happened to the "Spirit"? Maybe by 2552 she's still deep inside Covenant territory, unable to report it's findings? And the Covenant never seemed to worry about the Parasite, did they? They should've guessed what the Flood was after they've studied so many Forerunner artifacts! But they've overlooked it!

Oh, and another thing that I thought was interesting: it mentioned that you will be able to claim off-base locations for building structures, specifically building Base Turrets in remote areas to act as sentries, as well as minibase sites where you can build individual barracks or supply pads.--Darktrooper117 04:10, 10 February 2009 (UTC)

I just discovered the entire theatre of CGI cinematics on youtube. I think we should post them here, but I don't know how to myself (And if I do something wrong, I know you all will yell at me, lol). People are forgetting that there were 35 Spartans that survived augmentation. Subtract Kurt, Randall and Shiela as MIA, Cassandra as WIA, Grey team, and the original Red Team, and you get 25 Spartans, the number the timeline states. And remember, Eric Nylund contradicts himself a lot from TFoR to FS, so his numbers, while they came first, may not be as accurate as they were intended to be. --<b><font color=purple>Councillor</font></b> <b><font color=blue> Specops</font><font color=blue>306</font> - <i><font color=purple>Qur'a</font> <font color=purple>'Morhek</font></i></b> 07:44, 18 March 2009 (UTC)

If we assume that there were 35 Spartans that survived augementations, 35-4(Kurt, Sam, Shiela, and Randall)=31-1(Cassandra)=30-3(Grey Team)=27-3(supposedly Red Team)=24. Halo Wars states that 25 of 28 surviving spartans fight at reach. therefore, the only logical explanation is that we must go off of the original number of 33 survived agumentation and assume red team was at reach, giving us 25 fighting spartans.

while there are some cannon flaws like the spartan lasers being in the game the halo universe is changeble such as in the fall of reach all but 6 or 7 spartans are at reach 2 KIA and one WIA and grey teams some where else but then thats proven wrong since kurt and randall disapeared and some one else got killed by hunters now with red teams MIA even less but there was a second batch of spartans they weren't trained by mendez and where the funding came from is unknown though--Bruce9 16:48, 12 August 2009 (UTC)

The fact that elites are different sizes is irrelevant. Armor can be shaped to match body shape (Like suits of armor in the medieval times, smiths could change the shape of that armor to match a single person). But the survival of the suit over time is unlikely, so you do have a good point.
while it is odd that the special ops elites directly say the armor isn't as new as theirs you do have a point about the damage--Bruce9 16:57, 12 August 2009 (UTC)
This could be because they use the same 'model' of armor for each Arbiter.  This could lead to a new set of armor for each, yet it still being 'not as new' as the fully updated Elite special ops armor.

Just because you don't like it doesn't make it a bad design.  A large portion of the people I've talked to appreciate not having to spend so much energy managing economy or building locations, particularly with the limited controls of a console.  Independent of personal opinions, it's irrelevant to the Wiki, unless in a section on critical review, which should be from cited sources.

Previous canon contradiction
I think the plentiful things in which Halo Wars contradicts previous canon should be addressed somewhere in the page. Some of which include:
Humans in general (Forge as an example, defeating the freaking Arbiter in hand-to-hand combat) being exxageratedly overpowered in combat against elites.
In the novels, the Spartans were described as being about on par with elites in combat, but not like in the game(edit: pluralize), where they just slaughter them with almost comical ease.
Another thing about the spartans is, why even were there so many of them on Arcadia? Red team i understand, but team omega is a little much. I mean, normally spartans were deployed only in small teams. Also, how was Arcadia so important to defend, as it was just a lowly populated vacation resort. There were a plenty of other colonies being attacked at the time.
Originally it was stated that elites weren't even deployed in battle against humans before the battle of Reach. At least not in as large numbers as in HW. However, this is probably just because of the gameplay. As is the issue with spartans having shields.
In the end, Anders and much of the other staff go to cryo pods with clothes on. However, it was stated earlier (in The fall of Reach) that normal humans couldn't go to cryo with clothes on, as it would've caused immense pain and freeze burns. Of course, they couldn't have shown Anders naked in a T-rated game, but they could've simply made the scene different and simply left the cryo pod part out.
There are some more, but i don't have time to write right now. Anyways, anyone else think some of these things should be mentioned on the page?
--Jugus 15:31, 16 April 2009 (UTC)
*Omega team, Anders was down there and she was important, as for them actualy being there that could have just been a wonderfull coincidence.
*Forge vs Arbiter, the only hand-to-hand thing he did was tackling the arbiter after he lost his rifle. now we can assume that a frontline veteren like himselfe would be pretty strong and muscle has a lot of mass plus his body-armour so he just threw all of that as hard as he could, fairly low on the arb's body and caught him of balence as he did all this rather suddenly. after that he shot him in the hand to make him let go of his sword. The arbiter incapacitated him in one punch to the gut, Forge then stabbed him in the face with his combat knife (first time we have seen it used i think) and then in the chest with the sword.
*Plentifull elites: were half Honour guards (an arbiter and a hierarch were present) and half field officers. this was a high prority mission for them so they put down their best.
*Spartan-elite: spartans are said to be about even with major domo elites physicaly but we have seen spartans to be faster, smarter and more agile and inventive. also i think that it may be equal without the MJOLNIR which enhances them further. spartans have always kicked total ass, even the weaker SPARTAN-III units must have been at least equal to the elites or they never would have done the kind of things they did.
*cryo clothes: yeah thats a litle unnecacery. they could have simply not show anyone naked...at least front on. maybe they could have not gone to anders pod untill it had fogged to all but her face which was also soon covered. and mabe the crews uniforms were cryo-tolereant which would not surprise me.

MA5 what?
I think its the MA5C assalt rifle used in halo wars because it behaves and (i think) even looks like it. this would support something i suggested on the MA5 page; the C is not a new model but a different varient for generalised use. the B was a close-quaters weapon issued to the Pillar of Autumn's armouries because of its planned mission (im actualy a bit fuzzy on what that was but i know it would have been mostly ship-bourd) which would alos accaunt for the rarity of long-range weapons compared to the other 2 games which were along side regular marines issued with the standard sortie.

Spartan Miscount Problem
Isn't the answer to this whole 25 out of 28 spartans at reach thing kinda simple. The spirit of fire was considered lost with all hands, meaning the spartans were considered dead (or technically missing) by the unsc. meaning 25 out of the 28 "living" spartans were at reach. --67.171.46.168 19:47, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
:The real problem is that there can't have been 28 living at that time either way. 33 surviving augmentation minus Sam, Kurt, Sheila, Maria, Cassandra and two other casualties mentioned in Fall of Reach equals 26, not 28. And that's ignoring the unconfirmed-but-probable losses of Randall and Unnamed Spartan (Harvest). And later in FoR, five more Spartans join the 25. --Andrew Nagy 17:53, November 1, 2009 (UTC)

most of the stuff on this page is all questions about stuff that most of us have already had awnsers to all that stuff by playin' the game.
storyline weirdness
OK, I'm having trouble desperately trying to fan wank the storyline of this game. It's really awesome but it's like the makers quickly glossed over the game's storyline before deciding to make it Halo 3: The RTS. I don't care if an individual doesn't know everything there is to know about the Haloverse, but a company making a Halo game should. This is why I hate prequels (I'm afraid to play ODST. Already I'm seeing canoncy issues).
My questions are as follows (mind you, I've only gotten past the first mission where you fight the Flood. So if anything is rectified later in the game, just tell me that I'll find out later):
1) How the hell are they fighting Hunters about twenty years before they were introduced (I've never minded that issue so much with the Elites since that made no damn sense anyway, but the Hunters)? For that matter:
2) How the hell are they fighting Brutes at this stage of the war!? At least with the Elites and Hunters, such a contradiction is limited only to the books. Halo 2, if I remember, heavily implies that the humans have never seen Brutes before. According to First Strike, aren't the Brutes supposed to be simply temple guards before they were "promoted" in Halo 2 to fully replace the Elites?
3) The Flood. How the hell does humanity finding the Flood this early work out? I was under the impression that the Covenant didn't even know about them.
4) The Arbiter is (as far as I know) on the creepy Brute/Flood planet when the Prophet orders him to bring Anders "here" to the Apex facility. In the half hour or whatever between the UNSC destroying the Scarab and the Arbiter capturing her, he Slipspaces over to Arcadia (without being detected by the Spirit of Fire or planetary defenses), lands on the planet while parking his spaceship directly over a UNSC base swarming with Marines and Spartans, and brings Anders up in that gravity beam that connects to a standard Halo 1 dropship (only Covenant starships and Phantoms have been shown to have this). Geez, and I thought Master Chief was good. What the heck was going on there? Was this like a special stealth ship that he had that was also capable of Slipspace travel or something? How did nobody detect this thing, how did he get there so fast, and why does a regular dropship have that gravity transport beam?
5) Help me understand the deal with Harvest. This takes place after what this site calls the Third Battle of Harvest, which either started 5 years after the Second Battle of Harvest (which was Cole's giant fleet) or was a 5 year long battle (even though the game says the latter, I believe the former). Harvest was only partially glassed during the First Battle of Harvest (like Reach). The Third Battle involved major space battles between the Spirit of Fire (and other UNSC ships, I imagine, since UNSC ships lose in even battles against Covenant ships unless Captain Keyes is in command) and Covenant forces. By the time the first level starts, humans have pretty much won the battle and retook Harvest (possibly even destroying all the enemy's ships), but are still tracking down the Covenant ground forces near what is a major Forerunner installation. Am I anywhere near close?Son of God-Enel 05:38, September 15, 2009 (UTC)

The UNSC lost it's "coolness"
Does anyone think that the UNSC in Halo Wars has to many lasers? I mean look at the hawk, Cobra and Gremlin! they all shoot lasers, aren't the Covenant supppose to have plasma weapon, forerunners have LASERS and the UNSC to have BULLETS? I can't beleive Ensemble scrapped units like the cougar and the fox just to place these crappy excuses for vehicles in their game. The UNSC is great it's one of the best Sci-Fi governments ever invented but Halo Wars and all these Graphic novels are just killing the franchise why can't we have the same stories but in live action shorts or a short CG mini series done like the cutscens in Halo?
