TIP: Another method I have discovered is to complete steps 1-5. Then, you may increase your speed (UP on the D-Pad) to about 100,000 on the left side of the decimal. Then, lightly push the right trigger all the way down once. This should make you seem to appear above the map. I reccomend doing this on a normal, un-forged map (besides the fusion coils). Hope it helps!
