Kwan: Difference between revisions

After the ''Spirit of Fire'' sacrificed its [[Shaw-Fujikawa Translight Engine|slipspace drive]] during the [[Battle of Shield World 0459]], Lieutenant Kwan entered cryosleep in Cryo-bay Foxtrot 7 for the long voyage back to UNSC-controlled space. Nearly six years later in [[2537]], an [[Violeta Maldini|engineering specialist]] was attacked by a stowaway [[flood infection form]] and was overtaken by the parasite. [[Serina]], having begun the early stages of [[rampancy]], failed to take full measures and instead locked the resultant [[flood combat form]] in the cryo-bay for study. After three days of study and observation, Serina witnessed the infected enter the [[Flood carrier form|carrier stage]] and spawn more infection forms. Able to absorb a host's knowledge, the Flood utilized the engineer's knowledge of [[cryo chamber]] codes to awaken and infect more crew members. Lieutenant Kwan was abruptly awoken from cryostasis and immediately infected, turning into a combat form. The Flood then sought to escape from Serina's lockdown by using Kwan's knowledge of the ship's override codes. Spartan [[Jerome-092]], who had been awoken from stasis in the same bay, began to exterminate infected crew members who could potentially escape the locked bay, remorsefully killing the infected Lieutenant first. The brief Flood infestation aboard the ship was ultimately eradicated due to the efforts of Jerome, Serina, and Professor [[Ellen Anders]].<ref name="SHH"/>
