While defending the generators and Mack's AI core, he fled into the complex as the compound containing the generator came under attack from [[Jiralhanae|Brute]] [[Barukaza Workshop Chopper|Choppers]]. He fled with [[Jepsen]] and [[Staff Sergeant]] [[Nolan Byrne|Byrne]]. However, he and Jepsen were killed by a Brute at the doors to Mack's AI core center. The Brute shot Habel in the hip, shattering the bones there.
