He was assigned to [[1st Platoon|First Platoon]]'s Alpha Squad during the [[Battle of Harvest]] near [[Gladsheim]] <ref>''[[Halo: Contact Harvest]]'', page 173</ref>, and is notably a good friend of [[Jenkins]]. He was unofficially promoted by Sergeant [[Avery Johnson|Johnson]] to the spotter of [[Alpha Squad]]. When he tried to run after [[Jenkins]], because [[Jenkins]] was chasing after [[Tartarus]] (blaming him for his family's death), he was nearly killed when the [[Grunt]] [[Flim]] bit him in the neck, nicking his jugular vein. [[Johnson]] came in to save Forsell, but got wounded by [[Yanme'e]] himself in the process, though he managed to save Forsell and kill Flim. At the end of [[Halo: Contact Harvest]], [[Johnson]] offers both Forsell and his friend [[Jenkins]] the opportunity to fight the [[Covenant]] as [[Marines]]. he made a good marine.
