Biography
He is the son of Raia and Jul ‘Mdama, although he does not know who his father is as it is custom for Sangheili not to reveal the name of the father, so that they are solely judged on their abilities and not their heritage. He and his brother Asum lived in the State of Mdama and were taught combat by Naxan in the Bekan Keep. ===Early life===
Dural 'Mdama is the eldest son of Raia and Jul 'Mdama. At some point he became aware who his father was, even though Sangheili custom dictates the youth are solely judged on their own abilities and not by their heritage. He and his brother Asum lived in the State of Mdama and were taught combat skills by Naxan in their home at Bekan Keep. Following his mother's death at the start of the Blooding Years, Dural swore to exact vengeance on her killers and vowed to fight humans, as they supported the Arbiter Thel 'Vadam and posed a threat to Sanghelios in his eyes. Feeling responsible for his mother's death during the Siege at Kolaar, the fundamentalist leader Avu Med 'Telcam took Dural on as an apprentice, starting him off as a cadet among the Servants of the Abiding Truth.

Pale Blade
By the time of the Battle of Requiem, Dural had become a leading member of the Servants of the Abiding Truth under the name Pale Blade. Several months later, on January 21, 2558, the Abiding Truth were dealt a crushing blow when Avu Med 'Telcam and two of his ranking commanders were assassinated in the Servant's headquarters on New Llanelli. Although deemed a secondary target for the Spartan-III assassin, Dural was fortunate not to be among the casualties of the attack. Under his guidance, he led the Abiding Truth and soon struck back at the UNSC and its Sangheili allies, infiltrating the Forerunner shield world at the former site of Onyx and endangering the scientific community inhabiting inside.

Personality and traits
Dural fanatically believes in the Servants of the Abiding Truth. With a fierce temper even in his youth, he lead the Servants with fear and cut down those who questioned him too often. He despises humans and the Swords of Sanghelios for the death of his mother and has no qualms killing children to get his way. Despite his scorn for the Swords of Sanghelios, he is still reluctant to kill female Sangheili, even if they are his foes, as Raia 'Mdama taught him to be chivalrous to females when she was alive. He is also impatient according to Asum. Though he doesn't openly admit it, he still cared enough about Asum to warn him about his near-suicidal gambit to survive the beasts of Onyx.

Like his father and brother, Dural 'Mdama has pale skin.

Equipment
Anchorite-warrior sect armor
For himself, and at the urging of Telcam, Dural had painted his armor in a pale blue and white, similar to the color of a energy sword. His combat harness was a fierce and ancient variant from an anchorite-warrior sect that he recovered from the vaults of the Ontom temple. This particular and rare set of armor made him stand out among the Servants.
Danzhau-pattern intrusion harness
Dural has also been seen wearing a blue Danzhau-pattern intrusion harness with a holographic symbol projected from his helmet resembling that of the one seen on his father's armor.
