In Matchmaking, Mantises were incredibly strong enemies. Needless to say, due to the Mantis' strong melee feature, it was advisable to always disable it with a Plasma Pistol's EMP overcharge. However, there were always other enemy team players who were on foot defending the Mantis. It was advised to approach the Mantis from its back while its operator was focusing on their enemies in front of them. While it was being distracted, the could disable it with EMP. Take note that some players would immediately leave the Mantis upon being EMP'd, while some others would remain inside. Players could then sprint to its back and board it. | |||
