'''Dass''' was a middle aged, married, and overweight [[Colonial Militia of Harvest|Colonial Militia]] recruit. He was assigned as [[1st Platoon|First Platoon's]] [[One-Alpha Squad]] leader, during the [[Battle of Harvest]] near [[Gladsheim]] <ref>''[[Halo: Contact Harvest]]'', page 213</ref>. Later on in the battle, he borded the [[Tiara]] with the other volunteers. He was wounded there by a bolt from [[plasma pistol]], whose owner was an [[Unggoy]] named [[Guff]]. When the Unngoy [[Humnum]] wanted to finish Dass off, [[Sergeant Major]] [[Avery Johnson]] rescued him and killed Humnum. Dass then entered the container and successfully fled [[Harvest]].
