He was assigned as [[1st Platoon|First Platoon's]] squad A leader during the [[Battle of Harvest]] near [[Gladsheim]] <ref>''[[Halo: Contact Harvest]]'', page 213</ref>. Later on in the battle, he borded the [[Tiara]] with the other volunteers. He got shot there by a plasma pistol shot by an [[Unggoy]] named [[Humnum]]. When Humnum wanted to finish Dass off, [[Staff Sergeant]] [[Johnson]] rescued him and killed Humnum. Dass then entered the container and successfully fled [[Harvest]] alive.
