I've been doing some considering. Originally, when I asked you about the rank of Haverson and Polaski, I was merely looking at Page 49. Now, I am viewing the whole book (for example: page 52) | |||
Now, you did say to the best of your recollection when stating that Polaski should be a Petty Officer Second Class. The thing is, you refer to her as just a Warrant Officer on several other occasions (read: throughout the entire book). I would just like to confirm your statement, as you seemed a tad unsure. As you do refer to her as a Warrant Officer, did you indeed mean for her to be a Petty Officer Second Class and just stuck with Warrant Officer due to the confusion that initially spurred the Petty Warrant Officer, or did you actually mean for her to be a Warrant Officer. | |||

Yes, this is confusing. The term “Warrant” is an older naval term which refers to a class of ranks. | |||
This might clear it up: | |||

So Polaski is a Warrant Officer _and_ a Petty Officer Second Class (one term being less specific than the other). | |||
