Alpha Probe is a generic UNSC term referring to one of the SlipSpace Probes used by Remote Scanning Outposts. It sent out radio pings and analyzed the spectrum from radio to X ray [1].

The Alpha Probe of the UNSC Archimedes, in 2552, detected a Covenant fleet en route to the planet Sigma Octanus IV[2].
