This destroyer was sent to intercept the {{UNSCShip|Spirit of Fire}} after its arrival inside the [[Shield World (Halo Wars)|Shield World]]. Despite attempted evasive maneuvers, the two ships collided, causing significant damage to the ''Spirit of Fire'', including destroying a portion of its supply of [[Pod]]s, while minimal damage was done to the destroyer, due in part to its shields. The two ships soon opened fire on each other, the destroyer quickly destroying many of the ''Spirit of Fire's'' deck guns.<ref name="freefall"/> It soon sent out [[Type-26 Ground Support Aircraft|Banshees]] and [[Type-28 Troop Carrier|Spirits]] to continue the assault and destroy the ''Spirit of Fire''<nowiki>'</nowiki>s damaged power core.
