:Plausible. By the looks of it, it is <code>"INDEPENDENT|WD</code> (Not INEPENDENT). I know for a fact that <code>WD</code> stands for "wheel drive", so this implies the type of drivetrain (axle system?) of a all-terrain vehicle.

:Since this flatbed truck is described as to being an INDEPENDENT|WD, it could suggest that the engine power of the truck works similar to a 4WD (four wheel drive, or all wheel drive), with each axle receives power independently. This applies also to the Warthog, in case you didn't know... Anyway, back to the discussion regarding SPADE, that could be the name of the manufacturer or the truck model... - <font face="Century Gothic"><font color="gold"><font color="#FF4F00">5</font>əb<font color="#FF4F00">'7</font>aŋk</font>(<font color="#FF4F00">7alk</font>)</font> 13:02, August 5, 2010 (UTC)

:::I'd say Independent Wheel Drive is about right after that. This actually makes alot more sense than independent being a manufacturer, as the badge on the front of the truck is a V. I don't know why the idea of a V badge on a car made by independent made sense before now but it did. And after looking at the images again I would say that its more likely to be INDEPENDENT|WD than any of the alternatives I proposed anyway.

Would it not be a possibility that this is, in fact, the Flatbed variant of the M12 Warthog LRV? If you look at the pictures, you'll noticed there are numerous design similarities to the regular Warthog, so is it not a possibility at the least? --<font color=#FF0000><<LOMI</font>, <font color=#CC0000>The Lord of Fanon</font>. :There's a slight resemblance, but the overall design and style makes it appear to be from a seperate series. Plus, the name "Spade" is on it, indicating a different name or manufacturer. --Gunnery Sergeant Pete Stacker, UNSC Marine Corps 23:53, August 16, 2010 (UTC)

Better Picture
Could someone do a transparent cutout render of the Halo: Reach Spade flatbed truck to use as the new introductory image for the article? I can work on it when I have the time to do it, the only problem is I don't know if I can do a good job editing the current image in Photoshop, so I think it would be great if someone else could get on it as well. :Done. Feel free editing out the ones in the rear of the vehicle.— <span style="font-size:16px; font-family:OrbitronMedium;"><span style="color:#FF4F00;">subtank</span></span> 16:22, 10 October 2011 (EDT)

Vehicle hood logo
Hey, can we get a screenshot or raster vector image of the logo on the vehicle's hood? It would be nice if we could actually see what the logo looks like and even maybe compare it to the real-world Dodge Ram logo on our own. --<span style="color:Black; font-family: Halo;">Xamikaze330</span> <small>[<font color="Blue">Transmit</font>|<font color="Green">Files</font>]</small> 12:05, 18 June 2013 (EDT)Xamikaze330
The actual graphic texture in the game is still pretty low-rez, so it won't help much. There is somewhere I've seen a shaded render of a Spadehorn bovine skull from one of the Reach 3-D Bungie artists, which is the animal cut from the game but which lends its name to the civilian vehicle Spade. There is a front-view render of the Spadehorn skull that would have been the basis for the vehicle's logo. That might be the best reference. ==Vehicle Size==
A recent trivia inclusion suggests the Landfall Spade in the garage is larger than the Halo Reach version of the vehicle. There's no citation for this and I was wondering if it was truly a fact. Unfortunately, I don't have access to the Landfall Spade but I do have access to the Landfall Civilian Transport and that is a direct reuse of the Reach Transport, no modifications. In making a multiplayer map, I doubt they'd have the time to redo the Spade mesh entirely when it's a solid piece of the environment. I can't confirm in any way that the Spades are different sizes, but from what I can tell, I'd be highly suspicious of this 'fact'. -ScaleMaster117 (talk) 10:28, 9 March 2014 (EDT)
:Good point. What we can do is place Spartans next to each version of the Spade, take screenshots, and roughly compare them. Unfortunately, my expired Gold membership prevents me from taking a screenshot and uploading it to Halo Waypoint. Do we have any volunteers? —<span style="font-family: Eurostile;"><span style="color:#000;">SPARTAN</span><span style="color:#888;">331</span></span> 11:25, 9 March 2014 (EDT)
:I would do them, as I have the Halo 4 Game of the Year Edition, but unfortunately, I'm having difficulties getting Theater to work. That and I'm still trying to learn the ropes of Theater and Forge and things like that. I'll try to get to it sometime if possible, but in the meantime, more volunteers would be welcome to help with this. --<span style="color:Black; font-family: Halo;">Xamikaze330</span> <small>[<font color="Blue">Transmission</font>|<font color="Green">Commencing</font>]</small> 22:38, 9 March 2014 (EDT)Xamikaze330
