UNSC Marine Corps: Difference between revisions

The relic on Harvest pointed to another UNSC colony, [[Arcadia]]. Once inside the ship, Anders insisted that what the relic claimed was on Arcadia could be the key to winning the war, and that it must be secured before the [[Covenant]] found it. Reluctantly, [[Captain (Navy)|Captain]] [[James Gregory Cutter|James Cutter]] agreed, and the ''Spirit of Fire'' departed for Arcadia. Two Covenant [[CCS-class Battlecruiser|CCS-class Battlecruisers]] had already arrived, and were sieging the capital city, [[Pirth]]. [[Arcadian Patrol|Local police forces]] and the [[SPARTAN-II Program|Spartan]] [[Red Team]] requested assistance from the ''Spirit of Fire''. The ship deployed a flight of [[AV-14 Attack VTOL|Hornets]] commanded by Sergeant Forge to assist the local police, who were trying to protect civilians as they were being evacuated in three [[Human Cargo Ship|large transports]], designated [[Cargo 1]], [[Cargo 2|2]], and 3. [[Cargo 3]] was destroyed early in the evacuation effort after the pilot panicked and took off without overwatch or air support, but the other transports managed to survive, and each lifted off with hundreds of survivors. After that, the Covenant raised a huge energy shield over [[Arcadia Forerunner Ruins|Forerunner ruins]] near an [[Office of Naval Intelligence|ONI]] [[ONI Base (Arcadia)|base]]. Multiple [[M-145D Rhino|M-145D Rhinos]], equipped with plasma weapons, were deployed from the orbiting ''[[UNSC Pillar of Autumn|Pillar of Autumn]]'' to destroy the shield. After a protracted battle, the shield was destroyed, and Marine forces were sent into the ravine, which had previously been obscured by the shield. Forge's forces advanced and saw that the Covenant were trying to build a [[Type-47 Ultra Heavy Assault Platform|Scarab]]. The only working part of the Scarab, the head, was able to wreak havoc, though the Scarab was eventually destroyed. While Professor Anders was documenting the area for study, the Arbiter took her to a Forerunner [[Shield World (Halo Wars)|Shield World]] in order to unlock a [[Forerunner]] fleet.
